Read MoreWe count it as a privilege and honour to welcome you to Sasse Old Boys Association, Montreal Chapter (SOBA- Montreal). It is a wonderful privilege that God has given us life more abundantly and has shown His marvelous light to every individual. What a freedom of certainty to know that He alone is God. It is also a privilege to have passed through our Alma Mater Saint Joseph’s College (SJC), Sasse, Buea; the very reason why we celebrate and are being celebrated upon.
SOBA- Montreal has evolved from its antecedent SOBA- Canada founded in 1993 by a group of students and staff from the first secondary school in Cameroon residing in Canada. The main idea was to socialize, create soft landing for other SOBANS and to give back to this erstwhile institution in cash and kind. I must say quite recently the energy and enthusiasm of the members has increased as well as its numerical strength. A fund drive was carried out in 2012 where over two thousand dollars was realized to support projects in SJC. We have since donated to the Sick Bay Project in SJC.
Furthermore, it has been a great opportunity to serve our community here in Canada by sponsoring various benevolent projects by different associations viz, Momo Elite Association of Montreal, Goodwill Montreal Association, MECA Montreal, LECDA Montreal, Ndakongni Association of Montreal and host of others. SOBA-Montreal is a house-hold name in our community and I am proud of the young people and leadership behind this association. SOBA-Montreal has become the corner stone in the enhancement of development in our society. We have had a maximum impact on immigration and integration, on education and health care in Montreal and its environs. Some of our charitable donations have had far reaching implication to so many lives in Cameroon. It is amazing how so many lives have been transformed by this singular gesture. It is my fervent hope that we will do more under this platform in the future.
May I seize this opportunity to thank the committee responsible for the development of this website and more so to the web designer for a wonderful job. Thanks to our indefatigable members and my executive for all the support. I pray that SOBA – Montreal will bring revitalization, restoration and transformation to the lives of its members and it incumbent community.
On behalf of SOBANS in Montreal and Canada at large, I want to say thank you for visiting our
platform. Be rest assured that you will find some inspiration from our activities as you look through.
Thank you.
